The Lagoon Summer Concert Series has been a summer event in Fort Collins for over 18 years, thanks to the generous support of Colorado State University, this event has continued to thrive and grow into the success it is today. The free concerts will be held, weather permitting, on Wednesday nights!

Wednesday, July 10 – Mark Sloniker

Mark Sloniker has made music in many diverse settings over the course of his life. From solo piano performances to jazz trios/quartets, to symphony orchestra concerts, Mark has played and recorded in the U.S. and abroad. Mark is a producer, composer and recording artist, and has made five recordings (CDs) of his own and contributed to many recordings as a “side man” or composer.

Mark has a degree in Music Therapy from Colorado State University and has worked extensively using music as a therapeutic tool in achieving/maintaining wellness. He has worked with Doctors (MDs), Psychologists, and many practitioners in the healing fields bringing music to many who wish to do healing work in this way. He has recorded music for this purpose as well as presented and taught in workshops and seminars.

Wednesday, July 17 – The Wendy Woo Band

The Wendy Woo Band loves performing catchy, upbeat songs that get everyone of all ages up and dancing! From the pop rock sound of “Out of My Head Over You” to the acoustic rock feel of “Down and Dirty,” a song that demonstrates Wendy’s ability to tap on her guitar in a rhythmic way, their shows are not one to miss. The Wendy Woo Band has the versatility to play any show as a five piece or down to a single player, Wendy Woo. A duo is formed with Wendy and Robin Hoch or a trio with Wendy, David Derby and Mitch DeZwarte. These five can come together or another member can be added for a five piece. This is possible because of the musicianship of the band’s members. Wendy plays acoustic and electric guitars, Robin plays viola and guitar, David plays drums, percussion, Chris plays rhythm guitar, bass and drums, and Mitch plays bass, guitar and keyboards.

Wednesday July 24 – Tumbling Dice

Tumbling Dice has been tearing up stages on the Front Range for over two years with dynamic music sets illuminated by its high energy country music. With an occasional rock song thrown in for good measure, Tumbling Dice never fails to fill the dance floor. From waltzes to two-steps to swing, Tumbling Dice promises something for every dance and music lover at the concert. Armed with a powerful rhythm section, rockin lead guitar, and impeccable vocal performances, this band bring the party to any stage.

Wednesday July 31 – Retro 80′s

Retro is an 80′s tribute band made up of 4 extremely talented and exciting musicians. The four paired up to create one of the most energetic 80′s tribute bands to hit northern Colorado! RETRO does a set to 80s Top 40 rock, pop, old school and hair-rock, all with accompanying outfits to match the decade. RETRO brings more than just music; they completely transform the atmosphere with props and audience participation that will get an audience of any age out of their seats and onto their feet.

Wednesday August 7 – The Blues DoGS

The Blues DoGS get the crowd going anywhere from a four piece all the way to a ten piece depending on the venue and play at a variety of local events in northern Colorado. With the vocals of Kent Obermann and the lead guitar playing by Eric Romero, The Blues DoGS have charisma, showmanship and tons of talent. The rest of the crew consists of Brian Pantle, Jim Turner, Chris Kay, Del Benson, Greg Obermann, Gary Brunnerg, Aaron Moreng and Alex Brunnerg.

Wednesday August 14- Amplified Souls

Amplified Souls plays classic to current dance and party rock, rockin’ blues and anthems. The five piece band has a strong line up of experienced singers and band members to rock the stage at each performance. With Karen Nicholson on lead vocals; Brad Henecke on the electric and acoustic guitar and vocals; Bob Francella on the guitar, keys and harmonica; Jim Clark on the bass and vocals; and Mike Cech on the Drums, this team is full of pure rock energy.
